The Malfunctioning Speaker Mystery

After scouring the net and contacting tech support ... Mystery solved - check your electronics operating conditions *before* you pack your electronics for vacation or wherever you are going. Apparently I was in an environment where humidity exceeded 85% and my malfunctioned speakers were rated to operate within 0-85% humidity - therefore, warranty is voided citing 'damage due to water' ... my ass. Dumb piece of equipment. Bleh.
